This small business feature is near and dear to us! Thamer @petracallingphotography was our wedding photographer 7 years ago. He is not only incredibly cool, but kind and genuine as well. He is a great listener and can interpret your vision beautifully. If you are in the OC area and are looking for a photographer (he can do everything from weddings to food photography!), we hope you'll give him a call!

What inspired you to start Petra Calling?
"I worked in men’s formal wear for about 7 years and loved being involved in the wedding experience. I was also very into photography. I needed a change and decided that I’d start a wedding photography business to be both creative and independent. After getting into it, I realized that I thrived off couples who are madly in love. The chemistry between the couple is what fuels my creativity and brings meaning to my work."

What are your big dreams for Petra Calling?
"I would like to take what I know about weddings and photography and use that knowledge to empower other people like me that want to be creative and independent."

What's your favorite thing about doing business in OC?
"I love how diverse and eclectic the communities are in Orange County. Being a wedding photographer opens you up to all types of cultures and experiences. I’ve shot everything from Orthodox Jewish weddings to Pakistani ceremonies to same sex weddings, just to name a few. Also, I get to photograph in some of the most beautiful places in Southern California. Life is good!"

In doing some networking with Orange County Realtors Association, Lisa and I ran into a friend we hadn’t seen in a long time - Daniel Fennell. It was great to see Daniel and catch up, and talk about how we could collaborate to help our clients market their businesses. Since that meeting, we’ve been able to team up and use Daniel’s skills of capturing properties and people in our websites and marketing campaigns. Daniel is the owner of Fennell Media, specializing in videography and photography for real estate.
